The largest manga (comic) museum in Japan

The Kyoto International Manga Museum is the first comprehensive museum that has the functions of both a library and a museum.
The collection of manga materials comprises some 300,000 items including historical and foreign ones.
Approximately 50,000 items of those are arranged on bookshelves for easy reading. Exhibitions and events on manga (comics) are also held occasionally in the museum.

Access- Take the Kyoto city subway, Karasuma line or Tozai line, to Karasuma Oike station, exit No.2 and
make a u-turn. Then turn left at the corner (at the Hello Work office) of the Karasuma Oike crossroad, and walk northward along Karasuma-dori for about 2 minutes.
- Take the Kyoto city bus number 15, 51 or 61, to Karasuma Oike bus stop.
