Kumano Nachi Taisha (Grand Shrine) 【World Heritage】

It is a part of Kumano Miyama, where many pilgrims visited. You can pray here to receive god's divine blessings.

Kumano Nachi Grand Shrine is located in the center of Kumano faith along with Nachiyama Aokogaida and has been the center of people's faith since ancient times.
Many people come to pray even today and it has become one of the Kumano Miyama along with Kumano Hayatama Taisha and Kumano Hongu Taisha.
The shrine consists of six buildings built on 467 stone steps at an altitude of about 330 meters, and it enshrines each god with Fusuminokami as its main god.
Fusuminokami, also known as Izanaminomikoto, governs the creation and development of all things. It is also the god of agriculture, forestry, fishery, marriage, and is also worshiped as a god of various fulfillment.
The shrine was founded in its present place by Emperor Nintoku (Year 317), was changed by Tairano Kiyomori, and was rebuilt by Toyotomi Hideyoshi after Oda Nobunaga burned it down.
After entering the Tokugawa period, the rehabilitation of Kyoho was undertaken by Shogun Yoshimune.
Within its vicinity, the stone of a crow of ""Yatakarasu"", which is also used for the logo of the Japan Football Association, and an ancient tree with 850 years of history are located.
The shrine and its precincts were registered as part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage ""Sacred Place and Pilgrimage Road of the Kii Mountains"" in July 2004.
