Asuka Historical National Government Park was has founded by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to facilitate the protection and effective use of Asuka’s rich natural surroundings and cultural legacy.
This national park covers 60ha and consists of 5 districts of the Takamatsuzuka Area, the Ishibutai Area, the Amakashi-no-Oka Area, the Iwaido Area, and the Kitora Tumulus Area.
At Shijin no Yakata, you can learn about Kitora Tumulus and Ancient Asuka via high definition video of Kitora mural paintings, Kitora stone chamber’s full-scale model, and world’s oldest astronomical chart and so on.
