Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum
- 景点
The Takenaka Carpenter's Tools Museum is the only museum of carpentry tools in Japan. In addition to about 1,000 carpenter's tools selected from about 35,000 items collected so far, the museum displays special models of the best craftsmanship by the hands of modern master carpenters, such as a full-scale model of the pillars and framework of the Golden Hall of Toshodaiji Temple that towers over 7 meters high in the atrium space, and a skeleton tea room that shows the delicate work of a sukiya. At first glance, the building looks modern, but the museum itself is a place where visitors can experience firsthand the many skills of artisans.
